Migration Celebration!
Throughout the school year, the children in the 5-7 Prgram have been developing their understanding of the concept of migration, both human and animal: what it is, who migrates, why people and animals migrate, where migration occurs, what affects a migration pattern and countless other questions surrounding this big idea. Each class chose an animal migration pattern to study. Last week, the classrooms collectively presented a performance illustrating the migration patterns of the humpback whale, the monarch butterfly, loggerhead sea turtles, and the arctic tern. It was a wonderful depiction of migration through the eyes and voices of our students.
